What’s happened to the great British spirit? The wartime ‘make do and mend’ attitude has been thrown in the skip alongside last year’s shelving unit and people buy the car that goes fastest rather than the one that was made down the road. My grandfather would turn in his grave.
I’m not going to dwell on whether the Royal Wedding brought out your national pride or simply confirmed your Republican tendencies, but I do feel strongly that there’s one subject that should bring out the red, white and blue in all of us – that’s buying British.
With the British manufacturing industry resembling an ice cream on a sunny day, we should champion any industry that still continues its production in the UK and the UK construction industry is one such sector.
In my area of work, the construction arena, there is one good old British UK company that has been around for 90 years and is proud to have supplied the millions of tiles that helped rebuild bomb-damaged Britain and after WWII and continues to innovate today.
Feeling red, white and blue?
